Thomas S. Smolka Jr.
Thomas S. Smolka Jr., 64, of Zelienople passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township.
Born Dec. 12, 1956, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Thomas S. Smolka Sr. and Mary Lou Yoscak Smolka.
Tom was a former member of Grace Church, of Harmony.
He was the co-owner and manager of Hartman’s Firestone in Cranberry Township.
Tom loved boating, classic cars, and was an avid gun and Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast.
He was strong in his faith and supported Thru the Bible. He and his beloved Yorkie-Shih Tzu, Zeus, were inseparable. Above all, Tom treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his granddaughter.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 42 years, Jayne Goerman Smolka, whom he married on April 28, 1978; his children, Lauren and Matthew Smolka of Zelienople, and Kristen (Jeremiah) Cain of Evans City; his granddaughter, Delaney Cain; his siblings, Susan Smolka of Greensburg, Mary (John) Sleva of Mount Pleasant, David (Carla) Smolka of Jeannette, and Debbie (Mike) Palladino of Connellsville; his sister-in-law, Barbara (Jack) Burke; his brother-in-law, Bob Gess (and niece, Traci); and many nieces and nephews.
SMOLKA — Services for Thomas S. Smolka Jr., who died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, will be held privately by his family.
He will be laid to rest at Grace Church Cemetery in Harmony.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
