These items were collected from various police departments and district courts:
Feb. 14 — Jeffrey D. Hay, 59, of Butler, was charged with felony retail theft related to items stolen Feb. 11 from Walmart, Butler Township.
Police said store employees stopped Hay as he was attempting to leave without paying for about $53 worth of items. Hay has two prior retail theft convictions.
Feb. 14 — Rachel M. Rausch, 41, of Evans City, was charged in two cases.
The first included charges of misdemeanors retail theft, unauthorized device access and possessing stolen property related to a Feb. 9 incident at Walmart, Butler Township. Police said Rausch picked up items from the shelves and returned them for a gift card without buying them.
The second case includes a misdemeanor charge of possessing drug paraphernalia. Police said while arresting Rausch on Feb. 13, they found her possessing a glass smoking pipe.
Feb. 14 — James C. Haller, 69, of Butler Township, was charged with misdemeanors failing to register a dangerous dog and associated failures of compliance.
According to wardens, Haller owns a pit bull named Tucker, who was deemed a dangerous dog by a district judge in July 2020. Wardens said Haller has since failed to register the dog as such and complete other prerequisites for keeping the animal.
Some of those conditions include spaying or neutering the dog and having a microchip implanted.
Feb. 14 — Daniel A. Thompson, 39, of Sarver, was charged with misdemeanors failing to register a dangerous dog and associated failures of compliance.
According to wardens, Thompson owns a Labrador named Cyrus, who was deemed a dangerous dog by a district judge in October 2019. Wardens said Thompson has since failed to register the dog as such and complete other prerequisites for keeping the animal. Some of those conditions include spaying or neutering the dog and having a microchip implanted.
Feb. 15 — Holden G. Cook, 20, of Franklin, was charged with DUI, stemming from a Feb. 13 traffic stop in the University Village guest parking lot, Slippery Rock Township.
Police were investigating another report when they saw the vehicle with fresh damage to its rear taillight. Police said field sobriety tests showed Cook was impaired. A later blood test showed Cook’s blood-alcohol content at .169%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 14 — Mark D. Tennent, 61, of Butler, was charged with felony fleeing and misdemeanor DUI, stemming from a Jan. 20 traffic stop on Sunset Drive, Center Township.
Police stopped the vehicle for driving 65 mph in a 35 mph zone and crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Tennent was impaired. A later breath test showed Tennent’s blood-alcohol content at .111%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 14 — Travis K. Claypoole, 33, of Worthington, was charged with DUI stemming from a Feb. 10 traffic stop on the 400 block of Graham Road, Clearfield Township.
Police stopped the vehicle for crossing lines on the road. Police said field sobriety tests showed Claypoole was impaired. A later breath test showed Claypoole’s blood-alcohol content at .172%, and in Pennsylvania a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.
Feb. 14 — Christa D. Knox, 46, of Sarver, was charged with DUI, stemming from a Dec. 29 traffic stop on Route 356 near Bonniebrook Road, Jefferson Township.
Police stopped the vehicle for traveling erratically, including speeding up and slowing down without apparent reason and swerving in its lane. Police said field sobriety tests showed Knox was impaired, and officers determined the intoxication likely involved drugs after further evaluation.
A later blood test showed the substances topiramate, gabapentin and buprenorphine in Knox’s system.
