Dorothy K. Jones

Dorothy K. Jones, 93, of Butler passed away peacefully Wednesday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

She was born April 7, 1924, in Butler, to the late Charles H. Kaufman and the late Helen Burris Kaufman.

Dorothy was a lifelong, active member of Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church. A homemaker and mother, she also enjoyed many feline friends.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Samuel L. Jones and his wife, Ronda, of New Castle, Donald B. Jones and wife, Trish, of Distant, Pa., Robert Todd “T.J.” Jones of Burbank, Calif., and Kenneth “Chris” C. Jones of Butler; and her daughter, Judith and her husband, Jim, of Pittsburgh.

She also is survived by her sister, Carolyn Ruth Fleeger of College Station, Texas; her grandchildren, Doug Jones, Bethany Maddix and Sarah Rogers; her great-grandchildren, Steven and Owen Maddix; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell H. “Sam” Jones, who she married Nov. 26, 1942, and who died July 11, 1984; her brothers, Robert “Bob” L. Kaufman and Charles “Tod” H. Kaufman; and her sisters, Jean Shaffer and Helen Louise Kennedy.

JONES — Friends of Dorothy K. Jones, who died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, followed by the funeral service at 6 p.m. with the Rev.
