Jean M. Morgan

Jean M. Morgan of Asheville, N.C., died Sept. 26 at the Brooks Howell Retirement Home in Asheville.

Born May 24, 1928, in Fairview Township, she was the daughter of Miles W. Morgan and Bertha B. Sherwin Morgan.

Jean graduated from Karns City High School, then from Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and Scarritt College in Nashville, Tenn. She was commissioned as a United Methodist deaconess and served positions in California, Alaska, Minnesota and North Carolina.

Surviving are her sister-in-law, Doris Morgan of Butler; her nephews, Robert (Zenah) Morgan of Running Springs, Calif., and David (Irene) Morgan of Butler; and her grandniece, Brady Lynn Morgan of Butler.

MORGAN — A funeral for Jean M. Morgan, who died Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, will be conducted later in North Carolina.Interment will be at the Mount Pleasant Lutheran Cemetery in Chicora.
