Kingsridge development financial security released

ADAMS TWP -- Adams Township supervisors voted to release the financial security for phase 2 of the Kingsridge development’s construction projects at a meeting Monday night.

Residents of the development, at Olivia Avenue and Mars Evans City Road, had previously reached out to the township after communications with the developer, Frank Zokaites, stagnated over the course of several years. Portions of the wearing course layer on the pavement in the neighborhood had been left unfinished.

Township manager Gary Peaco said the remainder of the paving project in the neighborhood is complete.

“The final wearing course was put on last year by Shields (Asphalt Paving),” he said “10% was held to make sure that we didn’t have any issues.”

At a meeting in August 2021, board members previously approved a bid from Shields Asphalt Paving for $80,587.23 to finish paving in the development. The board released the $8,502.31 financial security back to Shields Asphalt Paving at Monday’s meeting.

“This money came from money that we withheld from the developer, to make these improvements that were necessary,” vice chairman Ron Shemela said.
