New pizza shop proposed at Adams planning meeting

ADAMS TWP — Plans to convert the Fergusons Fireplace & Grills store at 641 Route 228 into a pizza shop were brought before the Adams Township planning commission at a meeting Wednesday night.

Ray Nelson presented sketch plans to the commission members at the meeting. The proposed pizza shop would be takeout and delivery only, and would not modify parking arrangement or access at the site.

Chairman Martin McKinney said he didn’t expect the plan would have any major issues, and that it would only require a change-of-use form.

“I think it’s probably a welcome addition — more places to choose,” he said. “As the area builds up, I think that for people with two-income families, they like having that takeout or delivered food.”

Nelson said he hopes to open the shop by the beginning of July.
