Claire “Dolly” (McDonald) Pushak, 83, of Evans City passed away Tuesday while under the care of the Arbors at the Valencia Woods Nursing Home in Valencia.

Born Oct. 28, 1931, in McKees Rocks, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Margaret Elizabeth (Becker) McDonald Sr.

Dolly was a longtime member of the St. Matthias Catholic Church in Evans City and currently attended the St. Christopher on the Lake Catholic Church in Prospect.

She proudly owned and operated River Towing Co. and The River Boat Restaurant & Lounge for many years.

Dolly was a lifetime member of the Cranberry Elks Lodge 2249 and the Cranberry Township Senior Center. During her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her four children, Jean Ann (William) Smith of Zelienople, Peggy (Earl) Pfaff of New Sewickley Township, Ronald J. Pushak of Prospect and Joan Swayne of Renfrew; her sister, Thelma Schnelbach of Carnegie; her 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Pushak Sr.; her son, John Pushak Jr.; and her two siblings, John D. McDonald Jr. and Joan Faller.

PUSHAK — The family of Claire “Dolly” (McDonald) Pushak, who died Tuesday, June 30, 2015, will welcome friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople, with Father Lawrence R. Smith, celebrant. Friends, please meet at the church.

She will be laid to rest at the Evans City Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of the Alzheimer’s Association, Great Pennsylvania Chapter, 1100 Liberty Avenue, E-201, Pittsburgh, PA 15222 or the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, One Children’s Hospital Drive, Central Plant, Floor 3, 4401 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
