Louise M. Gallo

Louise M. Gallo, 88, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Butler, Feb. 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Carmella Isabella Gallo.

She was a homemaker, and she was retired from the purchasing department of the VA Butler Healthcare, where she had worked for 30 years.

She was a graduate of The Butler Business School.

A veteran of World War II, she served in the Women's Army Corps. She served as a photographer in the European theater.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the VFW Post 249.

She was an avid bowler and she loved traveling.

She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, including James V. Gallo and his wife, Bernadette, of Butler, Stephen J. Gallo and his wife, Jackie, of Virginia, Vincent S. Gallo and his wife, Shannon, of Virginia, Karen Westerman and her husband, Ernest, of Butler, Donna Caldwell and her husband, Russ, of Fenelton and JoAnn Henry and her husband, Richard, of Butler.

Five brothers and five sisters preceded her in death.

<B>GALLO</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Louise M. Gallo, who died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Dolan, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery.Arrangements are being handled by <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, Butler, and information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
