Proie

Marie Proie, 92, of Mars died Tuesday evening at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Pittsburgh on Nov. 22, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Geise) Platz.

Proie was a member of the Mars Alliance Church.

She enjoyed reading the Bible and attending Sunday school. An avid cook, she loved to bake. She also enjoyed playing cards and especially being with her loving family.

Surviving are two daughters, Madeline Regis of Cranberry Township and JoAnn McCormick and her husband, Charles, of Mars; a son, Fred Proie Jr. and his wife, Norma, of Venetia, Pa.; nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, who she married April 5, 1938, and who died May 1, 1987, and by a sister, Sr. Catherine Platz.

<B>Proie</B> — Friends of Marie Proie, who died Tuesday, Sept., 1, 2009, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberlie Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crow Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mars Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, with the Rev. Paul Cope officiating.
