Virgillia Joan Dressing, 80, of Butler, passed away Friday at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

She was born Dec. 7, 1931, in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late John Albert Dinger and Helen (Zolnierowicz) Dinger.

Virgillia had a strong faith in God. She was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church, Butler, where she was very active.

She also loved to draw, garden, and to help with charities.

She is survived by five children, including two daughters, Gloria Mastorcesari of Butler, and Andra (Greg) Schmid of Chicora, and three sons, Jimmie “Jake” (Charlene) Jackson of Mechanicsburg, Andrew (Rhiann) Jackson of Butler, and Dave (Jennifer) Dressing of Butler.

Virgillia also is survived by eight grandchildren, Yvonne, Jimmie, Josh, Mathew, Albert, Richard, Amber and Kensington; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Helen (Paul) Kucsma of Pittsburgh, Charlotte (John) Karwoski of Pittsburgh, and Barbara Ann Dinger of Chicora.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie E. Jackson, her second husband, Charles H. Dressing, Jr., and two brothers.

DRESSING — Friends of Virgillia Joan Dressing, who passed away Friday, October 26, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's Reformed Church, 493 Evans City Road, Butler, with her pastor, Robert Peterson, officiating.
