On Oct.28 at Slippery Rock University, the Pennsylvania House Democratic Policy Committee held a hearing on judicial oversight in determining how military retirement pay should be distributed for divorced military retirees.

House Bill 1192 addresses the discrimination that is rampant in Pennsylvania for military members when they are divorced.

Members of the armed services are the only people in the United States who have their wages, earned after divorce, considered marital property for life. (The Department of Defense states that military retainer pay does not accrue, has no value, is not vested, it is a wage.)

Honor those who are willing to give their life for you. Call your Pennsylvania state representative and ask them expedite and vote for HB1192. Call your state senator and ask them to introduce a bill similar to House Bill 1192 and expedite it.
