Mary Ann Janura
Mary Ann Janura, 93, of Cabot passed away at 3 a.m. Wednesday while in the company of family members at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights. Mary is formerly from Sarver.
Mary was born in Natrona, Pa., on Nov. 3, 1919. She was the daughter of the late Apolonia (Rakowski) and Walter Jonczak.
She was the widow of Zigmund C. “Ziggy” Janura, who passed in 1982.
Mary was a member of the St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, and she had also worked for a number of years at Du-Co Ceramics in Saxonburg. Mary enjoyed polka dancing, crocheting and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three daughters, Rose Fleming of Buffalo Township, Eileen (Robert) Peters of Cabot and Christine (Harry) Pavone of Verona. She also is survived by her grandchildren, Susie (John) Hasychak, Cindy Gourley (Marty Febbraio), Heidi Wolanin, Robert (Cheryl) Peters Jr., Lisa Simpson, Shawn Peters, Michelle Senay and Aaron Myers; and her 12 great-grandchildren, Rory and Clint Park, Rachel and Ryan Gourley, Jeremy, Carrie, Jesse and John Peters, Kelly and Renee Simpson and Sarah and Sydney Senay.
Mary was preceded in death by her five brothers, Chester, John, Walter, Andrew and Frank Jonczak; and her two sisters, Pauline Jonczak Shoaf and her infant twin, Ladislaus Jonczak. She also was preceded by her two grandsons-in-law, David Gourley and Shawn Michael.
JANURA — Family and friends of Mary Ann Janura, who died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, 524 High St., Freeport. A parish wake service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday evening.A parting prayer service will be in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday and will be followed by a Mass of Christian burial at the St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Freeport, at 10 a.m. with Father Edward Volz officiating.
