Ruby C. Mayhew

Ruby C. Mayhew, 82, formerly of Andrews Trace and West Pearl Street, died at 8:52 p.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born Feb. 11, 1924, in Oakdale, Tenn., she was the daughter of Dolph Creekmore and Flora Moore.

She was raised and lived much of her early life in Danville, Ky.

Mrs. Mayhew was a homemaker and had been a telephone operator for the Bell Telephone Co. She also had worked at the Country Belle and at PARC when it was at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

She was a member of the North Main Street Church of God, where she was a tenor in the church choir and was involved in many special music presentations.

Surviving are a son, William D. Mayhew of Renfrew; four daughters, Mrs. David (Carol) Crawford and Mrs. (Chuck) Linda Yetter, both of Butler, Mrs. Jack (Doris) Stupka of Mercer, and Mrs. Greg (Kelly) McCloskey of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a niece; and a nephew.

Her husband, L. Damon Mayhew, died March 6, 2001. She also was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

<B>MAYHEW </B>— Friends of Ruby C. Mayhew, who died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, will be received from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. J. David Panther, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
