Robert Dennis Welsch
Robert Dennis Welsch, 70, of Butler passed away on Monday in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 15, 1947, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Helen M. Sarnie Welsch.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of Butler High School.
He was a Vietnam veteran and served in both the U.S. Army and Air Force Reserves.
He was employed as a supervisor at Pullman Standard for 16 years until the plant closed. He then became a foreman at Magnetics, the former Spang and Company. After the downsizing of the East Butler facility, Bob was trained as a machinist and worked for Armco, now known as AK Steel, where he retired in June of 2013.
Bob enjoyed dancing, traveling, taking cruises, gardening, walking his dog, Kasey, and dabbling in and researching the stock market.
He was a certified scuba diver.
Bob took great delight in sharing the company of his granddaughter, Charlotte.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed.
Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted and loving wife of 48 years, Dorothy Gray Welsch of Butler; his son, Michael J. Welsch and his wife, Shannon, of Butler; his granddaughter, Charlotte R. Welsch; his brother, Barry Welsch of Richmond, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
WELSCH — A blessing service for Robert Dennis Welsch, who died Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, will be celebrated at noon Saturday by the Rev.
