Margaret Shulik
Margaret Shulik, 90, formerly of Old Plank Road, Butler, died Wednesday morning at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Oct. 16, 1920, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Ann (Janesko) Zavacky.
She was a homemaker. She formerly worked at Miller’s Hoagie Shop, and in the early 1940s, she worked for the Spaide Shirt Factory.
Margaret was a member of the St, Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian and originally was a member of the St. John Roman Catholic Church in Lyndora.
She also was a member of the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, square dancing, playing cards and spending time with her family. She also was an excellent cook.
Surviving are her three sons, William J. Shulik and his wife, Karen, of South Fayette Township, the Rev. Bernard P. Shulik of John Vianney Manor, Crafton, and David D. Shulik and his wife, Mary, of Clark, Mercer County; five grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; four great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael Zavacky and his wife, Nancy, of Lyndora; and a sister, Agnes Cuffman of Butler.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Shulik, who she married Oct. 8, 1939, and who died Sept. 1, 2008; a son, James R. Shulik, who died May 24, 2000; five sisters; and a brother.
SHULIK — Friends of Margaret Shulik, who died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, will be received at the
Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Friday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian.
