Florence Ethel Steyer-Herman
Florence Ethel Steyer-Herman, 94, of Confluence went home to be with the Lord she loved at 3 a.m. Friday at the Evergreen Nursing Center in Harmony.
She was born Feb. 28, 1912, in Confluence, the daughter of Truman and Elizabeth Klink Steyer. She was born on the Steyer family homestead, which has been recognized as both a Pennsylvania Century and Bicentennial Farm because of continuous family ownership since 1775.
She was a member of the Critchfield Alliance Church in Mill Run. She was a homemaker and farmer her entire life.
Surviving are a daughter, Lois "Jean"Rugg of Butler; two grandchildren, Barry D. Rugg of Emlenton and Lori K. Rugg of Butler; four great-grandchildren, Kristen D. Rugg of Boyers, Kelly L. Rugg of Fort Myers Beach, Fla., Caleb D. Rugg of Butler and Merritt E. Rugg of Millsboro, Del.; and a great-great-grandson, Chason D. of Fort Myers Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Steyer-Herman's family wishes to acknowledge a special thanks to her caregiver, Linda Brown and the staff at Evergreen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley I. Herman, who died Jan. 1, 1988, and a brother, Elmer Steyer.
<B>HERMAN</B> — Friends of Florence Ethel Steyer-Herman, who died Friday, June 16, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Additional visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Clyde Brooks Funeral Home, Route 711, Meleroft, Pa. The Rev. Robert Calhoon of the Church of the Nazarene, Butler, and the Rev.
