6:03 p.m. Friday - Police are seeking an unknown man who took an undisclosed amount of money from a vehicle at the Wal-Mart, Butler Commons, and drove off with an accomplice.The victim, whom police did not identify, caught the thief in the act of the crime. The thief is described as a white man in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and short blonde hair.A store surveillance camera shows the suspect arrived at the store with another unknown white man. The suspects drove off in a white, four-door Chevrolet car. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.Friday - Three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on New Castle Road near the Butler High School entrance.The crash occurred when a sport utility vehicle driven by Theresa Taylor, 35, of Prospect struck the rear of a car driven by Donna Spare, 33, of Butler. Spare's car was pushed into the rear of a mini-van driven by Gladys Rea, 66, of Butler.Greenwood Village volunteer firefighters had to cut through the car's wreckage to free Spare. She and Taylor were taken with moderate injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital. Spare's 11-year-old son was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
7:25 p.m. Monday - A pickup truck driven by Nikolee Stuchal, 27, and a car driven by Beth Bolik, 43, both of Slippery Rock, collided on Route 173 at the True Value store in Slippery Rock Township. The collision forced Bolik's vehicle into a car driven by Ted Holben, 18, of Slippery Rock. Holben, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken with minor injuries to Butler Memorial Hospital.Monday - Two bicycles were taken from the Liliac Lane home of Melissa Freiters at the Peter Rabbit Trailer Court in Brady Township. The theft occurred between 10 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday.Monday - Undisclosed items were taken in a theft between 8:45 p.m. Sunday and 12:45 a.m. Monday at a Three Degree Road home in Forward Township. Pam Kuhrt of Butler owns the stolen property.Sunday - Five flags were taken from greens at the Lake Arthur County Club in Franklin Township. The theft occurred between 9 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. Sunday.Sunday - A credit card and about $10 in coins were taken from a vehicle at Patties Place, Lake Arthur Estates in Muddy Creek Township. Mary Camargo of Portersville owns the property stolen between May 25 and Sunday.11:30 p.m. Friday - Vehicles driven by Brenda Schrecengost, 45, no address given, and Belinda Slaughenhaupt, 42, no address given, collided on Route 68 in Oakland Township. The collision forced Slaughenhaupt's vehicle into a vehicle driven by Danny Herold, 37, no address given.1:30 a.m. Friday - A 20-year-old Franklin, Venango County, woman reported two suspects, whom police did not identify, held her against her will in their vehicle before releasing her in Harrisville. No other information was available this morning.Thursday - Ralph Bergbigler, 50, of Butler was arrested for cruelty to animals after allegedly shooting to death a 3-month-old puppy at a Bonniebrook Road home in Oakland Township. Jennifer-kyn Buyaki of Butler owned the animal.Wednesday - Carrie Eakin of Harrisville reported her purse was stolen at Moraine State Park in Muddy Creek Township.
1:55 a.m. June 13 - Farrah Stroup, no age given, of Grove City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 62 in Jackson Township, Mercer County.
2 p.m. June 17 - Police confiscated 25 marijuana plants that were apparently growing in pots on the roof of the former BESCO plant on Zeigler Street. The police were called after a neighbor spotted the plants growing on the abandoned building's roof.9:30 a.m. June 19 - Laura Ford, 37, of Woodland Drive reported someone broke into her Woodlawn Apartment through a window and took a wallet with $225.3:22 p.m. June 18 - Several people suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of West New Castle Street and Green Lane. A car driven by Mark Yandura, 46, of Evans City struck a car driven by Michael Leo, 16, of Zelienople, which then struck the vehicle in front of him driven by Nicholas Ditommaso, 52, of Ellwood City in the chain reaction collision.
