Agnes Matilda Wellner, 92, of Lake Worth, Fla., and a former resident of Butler, passed away peacefully Monday at her son's home in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Born Feb. 12, 1917, in Fenelton, she was the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Thompson) Bauldoff.

Her husband, Floyd L. Wellner, preceded her in death July 14, 1988. One brother and four sisters also preceded her.

Survivors include four children, son Floyd (spouse Gloria) Wellner Jr. of Zephyrhills, Fla.; daughter Maxene (spouse William) Lackey of West Palm Beach; son Gerald (spouse Sandra) of Gibsonia; and son James (domestic partner Deborah Gage) of West Palm Beach. A fifth child died at birth.

Also surviving are one brother, Melvin Bauldoff of Meridian, and one sister, Madelyne (spouse Russell) Wellner of Butler. One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.

Eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, two great-step-grandchildren, three great-great-step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.

She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Palm Springs, Fla., and a former member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Butler.

She worked for Peggy Newton Cosmetics, JC Penney and St. Paul School in Butler and Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, Fla. She was a volunteer at J.F. Kennedy Hospital, Atlantis, Fla., for 10 years.

Agnes will be cherished for her love of political discussions and her zest for life. She served on the Butler County Democratic Committee for many years. She was an avid bridge player and a Women's Guild member at both St. Luke and Sacred Heart churches in Lake Worth.

<B>WELLNER </B> Friends of Agnes Matilda Wellner, who died Monday, April 6, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Florida later.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
