William W. Zulick
William W. Zulick, 79, of Renfrew died Tuesday afternoon at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born Jan. 14, 1930, in Hammond, Ind., he was a son of the late Andrew and Julia (Barna) Zulick.
He had worked in the melt shop for the Armco Steel plant in Butler until his retirement in 1995. Before that he was an insurance salesman in Butler for American General. As a young man, he worked as a merchant seaman on the Great Lakes for 19 years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, was active in the Men's Club at St. John's, was a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora and had enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, playing poker and trips to Mountaineer.
A veteran of the Korean War, he had served with the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann "Penny" (Walowen) Zulick, whom he married in Hagerstown, Md., March 21, 1960; two daughters, Anna Marie (Mark) Kalafut and Teresa Lynn Dailey, all of Butler; four sons, William J. Zulick of Prospect, Michael V. (Sharon) Zulick of Zelienople and Matthew P. Zulick and Christopher G. Zulick, both of Butler; a sister, Mamie Tincha of Butler; three brothers, Peter (Marlene) Zulick of Renfrew, John Zulick of Butler and Steve Zulick of North Hollywood, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Jonah Kalafut, Wayne Dailey and Joseph, Jordan, Victoria, Zachary and Caroline Zulick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Zulick, and two sisters, Margaret McClymond and Julia Bayne.
<B>Zulick </B>— Friends of William W. Zulick, who died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNRAL HOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora. Abbot Leo Schlosser, pastor, will officiate.
