Marjorie G. Britton
Mrs. Marjorie Gentry Britton, 85, of Cabot passed away at 10:53 p.m. Sunday while in the company of family members at the Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Jefferson Township.
Marjorie, a true southern bell, was born in Asheville, N.C., on July 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Maude (Braman) Gentry and Martin L. Gentry.
She was the widow of Hugh F. "Frank" Britton, who passed in 2002.
She graduated from Grace High School in Asheville, N.C., and the Washington School of Business in Washington, D.C.
During World War II, she worked on the Manhattan Project for the federal government in the office of the chief of engineering and the Foreign Economic Administration. Marjorie was employed for many years as an executive secretary to the editor at the Valley News Dispatch in Tarentum.
She was a Catholic, and she enjoyed painting and reading. She was a perfectionist for the King's English.
She is survived by four daughters, Dr. Lynn Sasala of Buffalo Township, Barbara (James) Galie of Natrona Heights, Betsy (Leo) Bielek of Natrona Heights and Maryellen (Paul) Rutkowski of Brackenridge; four granddaughters, Melissa (Andy) Hipple of Huntly, Va., Amy (Charlie) Szymarek of Elizabeth Township, Monica (Reed) Sutton of Malvern and Erica (John) Dudash of Oakmont; two grandsons, David (Richelle) Sasala of Cranberry Township and Adam Siegel of Harwick; nine great-grandchildren, Britton, Nicholas and Elizabeth Hipple, Ashton and Benjamin Szymarek, Colin and Alexander Sutton, Mia Dudash and Triston Sasala; and a sister, Evelyn Grace Notaro of Charlotte, N.C.
She is preceded in death by her three sisters, Christine Brigman, Elosie Lanford and Iris Strawn.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Hartman of Concordia Lutheran Ministries officiating.
