Richard Peter Syretz, 71, of Butler died Monday.

He was born in Bridgeport Conn., Feb. 4, 1935.

Mr. Syretz was a member of the Free Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Joy Flinn Syretz; a son, Richard Syretz of Manassas, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Randall (Tracey) Kleinwaks of Randolph, N.J., and Jill Wakely of Shelton, Conn.; and 12 grandchildren. A stepson, Bret Maxwell of Clarion, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Charles (Fawn) Lavsa of Shaler Township, also survive.

He was preceded in death by a son.

North St. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Matthew Perkins, his church pastor, officiating.
