Carolyn Sue Crispin

Carolyn Sue Crispin, 67, of Greenville, formerly of East Butler, went to be with the Lord on Thursday at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Sue was born in Butler on Feb. 23, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Gibson Swory.

She was a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church and the Red Hat Society.

Sue enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and vacationing in Myrtle Beach. Sue was a plain-talking, fun-loving lady who cherished the company of her family and friends.

She had been employed by II-VI Inc., Saxonburg.

Mrs. Crispin was married to Edward Paul Crispin on March 12, 1962, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2012.

She is survived by her two sons, Edward P. Crispin Jr. and Cyndi of Clarion, and Darrell D. Crispin and his wife, Melanie, of Greenville. Also surviving are her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Terry Swory and his wife, Lilly, of China, and Wesley Gibson of Oregon; and her three sisters, Brenda Freehling and her husband, Dave, and Melody Williams and her husband, Bill, all of Butler, and Teresa Baker and her husband, Ted, of Philadelphia. A number of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law also survive.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Renae L. Crispin, who died on June 15, 2014; her two brothers, DeWayne Swory and Jack Swory; and her sister, Pauline Manning.

Crispin— The friends of Carolyn Sue Crispin, who passed away Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, will be received from 1 p.m. to time of services at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora, with the Rev. Mary Kitchen, pastor of the East Butler Presbyterian Church, officiating.
