James A. Bates Jr.
James Arthur Bates Jr., 57, of Saxonburg Road, Butler, died Monday at his home.
Born Sept. 1, 1953, in Butler, he was the son of Wilma Jean Saxman Bates and the late James Arthur Bates Sr.
James was a union carpenter by trade.
He was a graduate of Butler High School and served in the U.S Navy on the USS Juneau during the Vietnam War.
James was a member of the Summit Presbyterian Church.
James is survived by his mother, Wilma Jean Bates of Butler; and one sister, Carole Rae (Richard) Bertino of Marana, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his father.
