Eva Dano

Eva Dano, 97, of Butler fell asleep in the Lord at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday.

She was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Butler, the daughter of the late Rade Milich and Mildred (Kosovac) Milich.

Eva was a member of St. John's the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church.

She worked at Armco during World War II and was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and gardening.

She loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and doing her crossword puzzles and word searches. She was a devoted mother who gave selflessly to her children and will be deeply missed.

Left behind to cherish her memory are three daughters, Paulette (Robert) Hutnick, Stephanie (Dennis Barnette) Dano, and Julia (James) Bohin, all of Butler; three sons, Robert J. Dano, Frank T. (Becky) Dano III and Paul Dano, all of Lancaster; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Stella DeLess, Lillian (Clement) Reott and Dorothy (John) Hays, all of Butler; a brother, George (Bonnie) Milich of Butler; two sisters-in-law, Matilda Milich and Lucille Milich, both of Butler; a cousin, Helen Jankovich of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank T. Dano Jr.; daughter-in-law, Mary J. Dano, wife of Robert; three sisters; four brothers; and three cousins who were raised with Eva.

DANO — Friends of Eva Dano, who died Thursday, June 4, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, with The Rev. Leo Schlosser officiating. Parastas service will be at 7 p.m. on Monday. Entombment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park in Butler.Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, PA 16045 or Catholic Hospice, 2605 Nicholson Road, Suite 3240, Sewickley, PA 15143-7608.The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Father Leo Schlosser, the staff at Catholic Hospice, especially Anna and Trudy, and her caregivers Martha, Linda and Deb for their compassionate care and support.
