Michael T. Vargo
Michael T. Vargo, 73, of Butler died early Friday morning at St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
He was born in West Mifflin on Nov. 2, 1938, a son of John and Ann Havrilla Vargo.
Mike had earned a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a master’s of business administration at the University of Pittsburgh.
He was a systems analyst at the Swanson Analysis Co. in Houston, Pa., for more than 30 years. Before that, he had worked for the Computer Science Corp., the Automatic Data Processing Co. and the Mesta Machine Corp.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a loving family man, who was known as a gentleman and a gentle man. He loved to dance and taught his grandchildren how to dance. He also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He has gone to join his wife of 53 years, Charlotte A. Javens Vargo, who died last Sunday. They married June 4, 1957.
He was the father of Greg (Lynette) Vargo of Renfrew, Lorraine (Scott) Vogus of Cabot, and Melanie (William) Fuellgraf and Linda (John) Chamberlain, both of Butler. He also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Nicole, Douglas and Jillian Vogus, Alexander, Victoria and Catherine Fuellgraf, John and Hanna Chamberlain, and Justin, Joshua (Samantha) and Gregory Fecich. He was the brother of Barbara Jakubovics of West Mifflin. He also is survived by one niece and two nephews.
VARGO — Friends of Michael T. Vargo, who died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, will be received at the
Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler. Interment will be at St. Peter Cemetery.Michael loved animals, and his family suggests memorial donations be made to the Butler County Humane Society.
