Butler Twp. donates 12 bulletproof vests to Ukraine
Butler Township is donating 12 kevlar bulletproof vests to Ukraine.
The Butler Township Commissioners previously voted to donate the expiring vests to Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Criminal Justice Training Center, but police Chief John Hays said they decided instead to get them to people in Ukraine.
The commissioners gave the vests to St. Peter & St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church, both in Carnegie, which will transfer the vests to Ukraine.
