UPDATE: One person was injured when an SUV and a dump truck collided in front of St. Gregory Catholic Parish in Zelienople Tuesday afternoon.

The driver of the SUV was injured, according to Zelienople first responders.

He was taken by Harmony EMS to the Zelienople Municipal Airport and and flown by helicopter to a hospital, Justin Hart, Harmony Fire District assistant chief, said.

The front of the SUV was badly damaged in the accident, which occured shortly before 2 p.m.

West Beaver Street is closed to traffic from McKim Street to Spruce Street.

“This could be a lengthy investigation,” Hart said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if it is closed in this area for three or four hours. They typically do an investigation, with the severity of the crash.”

Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company, Zelienople police, and Cranberry EMS also responded to the incident.
