Donald Tishey
Donald Tishey, 74, of East Vandergrift died Saturday at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Born June 25, 1931, in Butler, he was a son of Thomas and Catherine Ochaba Tishey and had lived in the Kiski Valley since 1969.
He was in the Army, serving during the Korean War.
Prior to retiring in 1983, he was a glass fitter at the Ford City Works of PPG. He then was a security guard at Alcoa for 10 years.
Mr. Tishey was an avid boxing fan. He enjoyed target shooting and hunting, and he was a member of the Fort Hand Shooting Club in Parks Township, Armstrong County.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Dunmire Tishey; three stepsons, Daniel Serena of East Vandergrift, Robert Serena of Schenley and Kenneth Serena of Bradford Woods; a stepdaughter, Malinda Hollen of Apollo; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother and a sister, William Tishey and Mrs. Mark (Irene) Nowakowski, both of Butler; and a stepbrother, William Vakulick of Tarentum.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Slagle Tishey, who died in 1969; his stepfather, Samuel Vakulick; and two stepbrothers.
TISHEY - Services for Donald Tishey, who died Saturday Aug. 13, 2005, were Tuesday at DUNMIRE-KERR FUNERAL HOME, Vandergrift. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
