Mary Alice Bowser

Mary Alice Bowser, 74, of Butler, died early Thursday morning, July 1, 2021, at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.

Mary Alice was born April 14, 1947, in Bellefonte, Centre County, Pa., and was the daughter of Pearson W. and Helen Sholl Brown.

She retired in 2009 from the Butler County Children’s Center as an assistant teacher.

Mary Alice enjoyed going to flea markets and car cruises, she was a member of the Butler Area Street Machine Club. She also was an avid Elvis Presley fan.

Survivors include her husband, Randy L. Bowser Sr., whom she married April 10, 1991; one son, Thomas E. Hockenberry of Pleasant Gap, Pa.; one stepson, Randy Bowser Jr. of Butler; and one brother, Gene E. Brown of Rochester, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christy J. Hockenberry.

BOWSER — There will be no public visitation and funeral services will be private for Mary Alice Bowser, who died Thursday, July 1, 2021.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary Alice’s name to the Skye’s Spirit Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 889 Farren Surrena Road, Harrisville, PA 16038.
