These items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Butler

March 22 — Dalton A. Best, 30, of Butler, was charged with felony failure to comply with Megan’s Law requirements. Police said Best admitted to gaining new employment and failing to register the employer’s address. Best is a Tier 1 offender and is required to do so.

March 19 — Chelsea K. McCune, 32, of Butler, was charged regarding two cases from two incidents.

Police arrived at McCune’s home at 7:23 p.m. and said McCune was acting and speaking aggressively to a neighbor. Police said as they approached and grabbed at McCune, she pulled away and fled into her home. For this incident, she was charged with misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Police returned to McCune’s home at 8:43 p.m. and said McCune was outside screaming and playing a radio loudly. Police said an involuntary commitment warrant was granted. Police used a taser to arrest McCune, but as it was deployed, she threw a beer can which hit an officer in the head. From this incident, she was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Both cases have been moved to Butler County Common Pleas Court.

Office of the Inspector General

Brittany A. Borghi, 34, of Zelienople, was charged with felony welfare fraud related to $2,542 worth of food assistance benefits. Investigators claim Borghi was receiving wages from a Cranberry Township restaurant that were not noted in her enrollment for the benefits.

State Police, Butler

March 22 — Scott A. Richards, 64, of Prospect, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following a Feb. 3 vehicle crash on the 600 block of Main Street, Prospect.

Police said a later blood test showed marijuana in Richards’ system, as well as a blood-alcohol content of .232%. In Pennsylvania, a level of .08% or greater is considered intoxicated.

March 21 — Ashley A. Sauer, 36, of Prospect, was charged with felony counts of child endangerment, along with misdemeanor second-offense DUI related to a report of erratic driving on New Castle Road, where a mailbox was hit.

Police said they found Sauer exiting a parked vehicle in a driveway on New Castle Road. Police also found two children in the vehicle, ages 5 and 4. Police said Sauer was unable to stand and perform field sobriety tests, and she later refused to have her blood tested.
