Students in certain programs at Butler County Area Vocational-Technical School will have a leg up if they attend Butler County Community College.

The school has agreements with BC3 that allow students to transfer credits to certain programs. The school most recently made agreements in the health assistant program, the machine technology program and the sports medicine program, at the last meeting of the vo-tech Joint Operating Committee.

“When (vo-tech) students enroll at BC3, if they have completed the required prerequisites at (vo-tech) and requirements at BC3 as described in the articulation agreement, they can receive advanced credits toward a certificate or degree,” said Regina Hiler, vo-tech executive director. “The students benefit as being ahead as they start their college experience. Also, they save money.”
