Karen Ann (Chvala) Johnson
Karen Ann (Chvala) Johnson, 64, of Zelienople passed away Thursday at UPMC Passavant Hospital.
Born Aug. 8, 1951, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of Betty Lou (Ours) Chvala and the late Fred Chvala.
Karen was an active member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople for many years, where she volunteered as an usher and proudly served as past president of St. Anne's Guild. She also counted money for the church and was always there to lend-a-hand at the annual lawn fete, as well as assisting with the senior lunch program on Wednesday afternoons.
During her free time, she enjoyed visiting the casino and playing bingo. Karen always looked forward to her annual wine trip to New York. She treasured traveling to Italy with the church and to Disney with her grandchildren, who she loved dearly.
In addition to her mother, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Nichole (Richie Koza) Johnson of James City, Pa.; her grandchildren, Madison and Aadan of James City, Pa., and her former husband, Robert Johnson of Kane, Pa.
In addition to her father, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, John Chvala; her grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.
JOHNSON — The family of Karen Ann Johnson, who died Thursday, July 14, 2016, will welcome friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople with the Rev.
