Jeffrey George Hanson

Jeffrey George Hanson, 53, of Renfrew passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, after a 2½-year long battle with cholangiocarcinoma, with his wife and his mom and dad by his side.

Born Oct. 25, 1967, in Tacoma, Wash., he was the son of Jack Gerald Hanson and Gloria June Bond Hanson.

Jeff was a 1985 graduate of Bradford High School, and a 1990 graduate of Edinboro University, earning a bachelor's degree in communication. He was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.

Jeff was employed as a recruiting manager for General Electric, retiring in 2020. He enjoyed outdoor activities, and had especially enjoyed hunting and fishing from his boat. He had a knack for winning at sports gambling. Jeff loved hanging out at the family's mini farm.

He will be dearly missed and longingly remembered.

In addition to his parents, Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 17 years, Carol Ann Hanson, whom he married on June 14, 2003; his cousins, Aili and Mike Pepperlind and family; the Gary Finzel family; and several other cousins.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

HANSON — A celebration of life service for Jeffrey George Hanson, who died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, is being planned for the spring, and a date will be announced by the family.Jeff will be laid to rest at the Willowdale Cemetery in Bradford.Arrangements have been entrusted to Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.It was Jeff's wish that no flowers or other gifts be given to the family but rather that anyone wishing to donate may do so to the Cholangiocarcinoma Akron Community Foundation, 345 W.
