Harold Jerome “Doc” Daugherty
Harold Jerome “Doc” Daugherty, 81, of Renfrew, passed away on Thursday, June 3, 2021, while under the care of Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Butler.
Born Dec. 13, 1939, in Butler, he was the son of the late Harry Daugherty and Millicent Porter Daugherty.
Doc was a member of First English Lutheran Church in Butler.
He was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School, and went on to attend plane and train school in 1959 in Minneapolis, Minn.
He was employed by BRIOH (now OPM) in Boyers, in 1960, and retired after almost 31 years as a claims examiner supervisor.
Doc was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins hockey fan. He enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, and in his younger years, was a softball coach and enjoyed playing in many area softball leagues. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 52 years, Doris Smith Daugherty, whom he married on March 22, 1969; three nephews and five nieces; and four great- nephews and three great- nieces.
DAUGHERTY — Friends of Harold Jerome “Doc” Daugherty, who died Thursday, June 3, 2021, will be received from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. Monday at Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.Doc will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
