Edmund F. Swigart, 76, of West Fulton Street died Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 3, 1932, in Worthington, the son of Homer L. Swigart Sr. and Agnes Grobskey Swigart.

Mr. Swigart was retired from the Laborers International Union Local 323 in Butler.

He was a past member of the C.B. Rangers, and he was a member of the Butler Archers and the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club. He also enjoyed going to auctions and being a vendor at the Clearview Flea Market for years.

Ed was a veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard during the Korean War and served in Germany.

His wife, Ruth L. Selfridge Swigart, who he married April 16, 1955, survives. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Clair (Jean) Johnston of Butler; a stepsister, Mrs. Janet Gibbons of Greenville; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Dorothy Jurysta, and two brothers, Homer L. Swigart Jr., and Richard J. Swigart, preceded him in death.

<B>SWIGART</B> — Friends of Edmund F. Swigart, who died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>GEIBELFUNERALHOME</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Steven Neff officiating. Burial is in the Butler County Memorial Park.
