Burton 'Chub' L. Ferguson

Burton “Chub” L. Ferguson, 87, of Grove City, formerly of Ridgeville, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday at Orchard Manor.

Burton was born on Dec. 6, 1927, in Argentine. He was the son of the late Harold Clair Ferguson and Manda J. Funkhouser Ferguson.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War.

He retired from the record center of PPG in Boyers.

Burton attended the Ridgeville United Methodist Church and the Grove City Methodist Church.

He was a member of the VFW Post 7840 in Hilliards, the American Legion Post 0945 and the Moose Lodge 1637 in Mercer.

Burton is survived by his wife, Helen Louise Hillard Ferguson, who he married on July 25, 1951; his daughter, Mrs. Rev. Donald (Kim) Bishop of Tampa, Fla.; his son, Fred Clair Ferguson of Butler; his two grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchild; his sister, Lillian Brown of Butler; and his brother, Richard Ferguson of Harrisville.

In addition to his parents, Burton was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
