Margaret C. “Peggy” Ellenberger

Margaret C. “Peggy” Ellenberger, 61, of Chicora passed away on Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice following an illness.

Born Dec. 24, 1956, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Edward G. and Kathleen M. Casey Swartwout.

Peggy was a member of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church.

She was formerly employed at Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center as a custodian and she also had previously worked at ARC of Butler County.

Peggy is survived by her husband of 32 years, Ralph David Ellenberger, whom she married on May 27, 1986; two sons, Dr. James Matthew Ellenberger Ph.D., of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nathan Ellenberger of Chicora; one brother, Robert C. Swartwout and his wife, Christine, of Meridian; four sisters, Mary Stanko and her husband, Russell, of Butler, Cathy Streit and her husband, James, of Butler, Sarah J. Durso and her husband, Michael, of Meridian, and Debby Fullerton, of Sarver; one sister-in-law, Sue Swartout of Connoquenessing Township; and all of her wonderful nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Swartout and Jimmy Swartwout.

She was beloved by all and is now reforged in Heaven. Thank you, Lord, for Peggy.

ELLENBERGER — Friends of Margaret C. “Peggy” Ellenberger, who died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way, Butler.Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, with the Rev. Richard Jenks officiating.Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.Arrangements were entrusted to Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.Flowers are welcome.
