Allene D. Luppe
Allene D. Luppe, 87, of Butler went to be with her Lord on Thursday surrounded by her family at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
She was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Butler, the daughter of the late Raymond Herrit and Stella (Bachman) Herrit.
Allene was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Home Builder's Sunday School Class. She was active in many church ministries, serving funeral dinners, helping with Children's Hour, folding bulletins and teaching Sunday school.
She met and married her husband, John F. Luppe, at St. Mark's. They were married June 2, 1948, and were together for nearly 67 years until his death in 2015.
Allene was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader of the Brownie troop at the Jefferson Elementary School and had a lengthy history of community service which included positions of president of the Daughters of VFW and secretary of the Lutheran Brotherhood Fraternal Branch 8267. She was an active member of several Masonic organizations, including Maquida Eastern Star 421, Amaranth, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Coasterettes of Florida, and the Acacia Club.
Allene was a very caring person and always thought of the needs of others before her own. In addition to her family, her passions included cooking, cake decorating, craft work, traveling, camping and collecting camels from around the world.
Surviving are her two daughters, Marsha (David) Mondani of Butler and Marlene (Dick) Beamer of Butler; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Kirk) Bailey, Dr. Jessica Mondani (Dr. Jeremy Johnson), Jacquelyn Mondani, Michelle (Earl) Martin and Michael Beamer (Tiffany Keffalas); and five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Caden and Caroline Bailey, and Theodore and Wesley Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
LUPPE — There will be no visitation for Allene D. (Herrit) Luppe, who died Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Interment will be in Gruenwald Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.Arrangements are by Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
