Logging truck, vehicle collide on Branchton Road

UPDATE: The Butler County Coroner’s Office has just left the scene of the crash at around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — State police are at the scene of a serious vehicle crash Tuesday morning involving a tri-axle truck and at least one passenger vehicle on Route 8. The forensic unit has just arrived.

It appears that a truck carrying logs hit a passenger vehicle.

Employees from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation have completely closed the intersection of Route 8 and Branchton Road. Firefighters and other personnel are working at the scene about 100 yards north of the intersection.

State police marked and recorded skid marks in the middle of the intersection.

The status of those involved in the crash is unknown at this time.
