Darrell A. Heeter
Darrell A. Heeter, 76, of Roseville, Bradys Bend Township, Armstrong County, died Tuesday at ACMH Hospital, East Franklin Township, Armstrong County.
Born July 3, 1933, in Roseville, he was the son of Henry C. and Gladys "Kate" (Crissman) Heeter.
He enjoyed camping, yard work and riding his golf cart.
He was a corporal in the 8th Motor Transport Battalion, United States Marine Corps. during the Korean War.
He worked in the shipping department at Penreco, Karns City, for 38 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, and the church's Young at Heart Club.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 488, Bradys Bend, and the Sons of Italy Lodge 1484, Bradys Bend.
He was the husband of Frances T. (Bratkovich) Heeter, to whom he was married for 52 years, and who survives him. Also surviving are three daughters, Patty Fresh (Bruce) of Bruin, Tammy Raab (Jeff) of Butler and Theresa Fresh (Gary) of Butler; a son, Darrell A. "Boomer" Heeter Jr. (Cherilyn) of Ford City; a brother, Merle Heeter (June) of Saxonburg; a sister, Henrietta Peters (John) of Rimersburg; and seven grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Elizabeth, Justin, Ashley, Greg and Joey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepbrother and a grandson.
<B>HEETER</B> — Friends of Darrell A. Heeter, who died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:33 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev. Ron Cyktor, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Bradys Bend.The American Legion Post 488 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and military honors Friday at the cemetery.Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice Building Fund, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
