Mary E. Petit, 80, of Buffalo Township died Wednesday at her home following a long battle with cancer.

She was born July 22, 1929, in Tarentum, daughter of the late Philip and Margaret (Gregel) Chambon. She lived the past 58 years in Buffalo Township.

She graduated from Tarentum High School.

She was an executive housekeeper for Holiday Inn for 25 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy (Bud) Cogley of Buffalo Township, Barbara (Denny) Pacek of Jefferson Township and Amy (Joseph) Gettinger of East Deer Township; grandchildren, Dan Cogley of Buffalo Township, Chris (Meghan) Cogley of Tarentum, Corey (Athena) Pacek of Pittsburgh, Carley (Rob) Wyant of Saxonburg, Tate (Becky Lefever) Pacek of Jefferson Township and Melissa, Rachel and John Gettinger of East Deer Township; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Rebecca Cogley of Tarentum, Jackson, Zane and Deianira Pacek of Pittsburgh and Dexter Wyant of Saxonburg; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver of six years, Jane Hollenberger.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis A. "Moonie" Petit, on July 11, 1995; a son, Randy C. Petit, in 1951; and two brothers, George and Charles Chambon.

Petit, who died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in <B>DUSTER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights, by the Rev. William P. Siple, parochial vicar.
