Thomas W. Brittner Sr., 56, of Dick Road, Butler, passed away unexpectedly on Monday.

Born April 7, 1955, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Leonard J. Brittner and Mildred Brittner.

Tom graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1973.

He was employed first as a machinist at the Herman Corp., then later at the Badger Corp. as a supervisor until his retirement.

Tom had a love of the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird-watching as well as boating and riding his motorcycle. In particular, he took great pride in displaying his trophies in his hunting room. He also enjoyed cooking, canning and making maple syrup with his brothers. Tom was a very caring person, always the most loving and supportive husband and father. He was very creative and handy. Tom enjoyed going to his grandson Austin's sports events, fishing and riding quads with him.

On March 21, 1992, he married Terri (McKnight) Brittner, she survives. He also is survived by three children, Thomas W. Brittner Jr. of Thailand, Holly E. Brittner of Harlansburg and Michael J. Hilliard of Butler; one grandson, Austin Maire-Hilliard of Hilliards; three brothers, Kenny (Claudia) Fleet of Sandy Lake, Leonard M. (Linda) Brittner of Zelienople and Fred (Linda) Brittner of Emlenton; two sisters, Susan (Ken) Kline and Karen (John) Ruby, both of Harmony; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his parents and one son, Phillip D. Hilliard.

<B>BRITTNER</B> — Funeral services for Thomas W. Brittner Sr., who passed away Monday, March 19, 2012, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates.Arrangements are entrusted to <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations to help defray funeral costs may be made payable to the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, in care of Thomas W.
