Kenneth R. Faux Sr.
Kenneth R. Faux Sr., 90, of Sewickley, formerly of Butler, passed away Monday at Sewickley Valley Hospital.
He was born on May 5, 1923, in Butler, the son of the late Paul R. and C. Marie (Gahagan) Faux.
Ken was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II, as a naval aviator.
He graduated from Butler High School in 1941, and from Grove City College in 1948, with a bachelor's of science in general engineering.
He was employed as an engineer with the National Cash Register Co. in Ohio, Lear Siegler Inc. in Michigan and he retired in 1988 from the Phoenix Products Co. in Wisconsin, where he has a number of patents issued by each company.
He was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder for many years. Ken was a member of the Senior Men's Club in Sewickley, the Butler Masonic Lodge 272, the Valley of New Castle Scottish Rite, the Syria Shrine and was a past president of the Butler Kiwanis Club. He was a former member of the B.P.O.E. in Wisconsin, the Institute of Navigation and the Illumination Engineering Society.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice (Black) Faux, who he married on Jan. 7, 1984; his son, Kenneth R. Faux Jr. of Paso Robles, Calif.; his nieces, Mrs. Robert (Vicki Ann) Benion of Milton, Pa., and Darlene Brady of Butler; and his nephew, Robert T. Hutchinson of Butler.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn Joan Hutchison Faux, who died on July 10, 1979.
FAUX — A memorial service for Kenneth R. Faux Sr., who passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 2nd St., Butler, with the Rev.
