State police say 39-year-old man molested Bruin teenager
BRUIN — A 39-year-old man was arrested Monday after state police say he molested a teenage girl in the borough.
The defendant, David W. Shelkey Jr. of Bruin, is charged with aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors, both felonies, as well as indecent assault, a misdemeanor. He is being held in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail.
The victim described the alleged assault to investigators during a forensic interview with the Butler County Alliance for Children, according to court documents. She identified Shelkey as her assailant.
Police noted that county District Attorney Richard Goldinger approved the charges before they were filed.
District Judge Bill O’Donnell arraigned Shelkey on Monday. His preliminary hearing is set Jan. 8 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
Online court records do not show if the defendant has an attorney.
