Lorcy Allen Wagner
Lorcy Allen "Al" Wagner, 84, of Buffalo Township passed away peacefully at 5:20 p.m. Sunday at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
Al was born in the Laneville section of Freeport on April 28, 1925, the son of the late Lorcy and Emma (Grantz) Wagner.
He was the widower of Norma Ann (Buttyan) Wagner, who passed away in 1996.
He served with the Seabees in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Wagner served in WWII from 1943 until 1946. He was called back to duty during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953.
After his service to his country, he was an electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 10 out of Butler and then for Local 5 in Pittsburgh. He worked for the union for 38 years, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Wagner was a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working around the yard and traveling.
He is survived by three sons, Robert A. (Paula) Wagner of Pittsboro, Ind., Richard D. (Barbara) Wagner of Madison, Ill., and Russell J. (Laura) Wagner of South Weir, N.H.; two daughters, Col. Susan K. Wagner, retired, of Manassas, Va., and Lauren W. (Karl Dusin) Wagner of Auburn, Ind.; his sister, Eleanore Booher of Buffalo Township; and his seven grandchildren.
He was preceded by his two brothers, Irvin and Donald Wagner; his sister, Florence Shearer; and two infant siblings.
<B>WAGNER</B> — Family and friends of Lorcy Allen "Al" Wagner, who died Sunday, April 18, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Howard Greenfield of the Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Township officiating.
