Mrs. Mildred G. Flick, 88, of Freeport passed away at 2:20 p.m. Friday while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor, Sarver.

Mildred was born in New Kensington, Aug. 9, 1921, the daughter of the late William Stockton Hendricks and Mildred (Schaffer) Hendricks.

She was the widow of Donald J. Flick, who passed away in 2008.

She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge.

She was a homemaker; but during World War II, Mildred helped the war effort by working at Alcoa Industries along with many of the women of her generation.

Mildred was a member of the Saxonburg VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo, sewing and traveling with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol (Anthony) Olszewski of Bath, N.Y., Loretta (William) Thompson of South Buffalo Township and Mindy (Bill) Shearer of South Buffalo Township; and her two sons, David Flick of Butler and Randy (Sue) Flick of Buffalo Township. Mildred also is survived by a sister, Eadie George of Lower Burrell, and grandchildren, Mike Shearer, Sara (William) Huth, Eliza Shearer, Shamus Thompson and Alyssa and Ryan Flick.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Robert Flick; her three brothers, Bill, Dan and Don; and her two sisters, Dorie and Evelyn.

<B>FLICK </B>— Family and friends of Mildred G. Flick, who died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, were received Sunday in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, Freeport. A funeral service was held Sunday evening in the funeral home with the Rev. Alyce Weaver-Dunn officiating.
