Geurrino M. Galassi

Geurrino M. "Warren" Galassi, 75, of East Brady died Monday at his home.

Born Dec. 18, 1930, in Bradys Bend, he was the son of Domenico and Assunta Pigliacampo Galassi.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and enjoyed gardening.

Mr. Galassi was an airman first class in the Air Force during the Korean War and was the recipient of a U.N. Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, a National Defense Service Medal and a Korean Service Medal

He retired after more than 20 years as a shop clerk at National Fuel Gas Co., Chicora. He also was a carpenter at Norton Smith Construction in East Brady for five years and worked at the American Bridge Co. in Ambridge for two years.

He was a member St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 488 of Bradys Bend, where he organized and ran the bingo.

Surviving are a son, Michael H. Vasbinder of Indiana; a brother, Carino "Carl" Galassi of Roseville, Armstrong County; and four sisters, Mrs. Domenick (Lucy) DeCelestino of Fishkill, N.Y., and Mrs. Victor (Florence) DeBacco, Mrs. Joseph (Jennie) Stimac and Angela M. Galassi, all of Bradys Bend. Also surviving are two grandchildren, two great-grandsons, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

GALASSI — At the request of Geurrino M. "Warren" Galassi, who died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, there will be no public visitation; and funeral services will be private.Arrangements are by BUECHELE FUNERAL HOME, East Brady.
