Lewis Kovalchik
Lewis Kovalchik, 84, of Harrisville passed away peacefully at 7:20 a.m. Sunday into the arms of his Lord and Savior at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1929, in Conemaugh, Cambria County, to the late Luke and Anna Madaish Kovalchik.
Lewis served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was employed with the United (Sprint) Telephone Co. in Butler for 40 years. He was a member of the Pioneer Telephone Organization.
His greatest joys were fishing, camping, traveling, building birdhouses and clocks, and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Lewis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Reba Nell Tucker Kovalchik of Harrisville. He is also survived by his two sons, Michael Kovalchik and his wife, Sherry Brosky Kovalchik, of Coral Springs, Fla., and Morgantown, W.Va., and Robert Kovalchik of Coral Springs, Fla.; his two granddaughters, Karlee and Breanna Kovalchik; his three sisters, Julia “Gigi” Novak of Conemaugh, Justine Herczegh of Winber, and Catherine Kovalchik of Conemaugh; his brother, John Kovalchik of Conemaugh; his 12 nieces; his 13 nephews, and countless friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles W. Kovalchik, and his four sisters, Mary Kovalchik, Eva Miller, Pearl Mastovich and Ann Kovalchik.

Kovalchik— The family of Lewis Kovalchik, who died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2014, will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday at theCunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw, retired pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorials in his memory may be made to VNA Hospice, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001 for the Garden Fund.
