Mabel A. Hays, 71, of Hays Lane in Summit Township died at 1:51 p.m. Monday at Life Care of Pittsburgh in Wilkinsburg.

Born in East Butler, Feb. 6, 1935, she was the daughter of Harry and Martha Gilbert Thomas.

She was a homemaker and a member of the East Butler Presbyterian Church. She was a life member of the East Butler Fireman's Club Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene P. Hays, whom she married Oct. 27, 1952; a son, Randy Hays of Butler; three daughters, Jeannie Reges of Chicora, Mrs. Lee (Terri) Gumpp of Butler and Patty Hays of Eau Claire; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

She also is survived by three brothers, Harry Thomas of East Brady, Fred Thomas of Connoquenessing and James Thomas of East Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Sarah) Bortmas of East Butler and Mrs. Leonard (Janet) Nocera of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Two brothers preceded her in death.

<B>HAYS </B>— Friends of Mabel A. Hays, who died Monday, June 5, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Sickles, her church pastor, officiating.
