The Butler County Tourism and Convention Bureau is kicking off its fourth annual “30 Days of Giveaways” Friday.

The bureau will give away $4,500 worth of prizes on its Facebook page. The prizes have been donated by local tourism partners, which will be featured in the giveaway posts on the Facebook page. This year, the bureau will highlight different regions of the county weekly with giveaways featured on Fridays.

Contestants must “like” and “comment” on the Facebook post to be entered in the contest. On the following Monday, a name is randomly chosen and the winner is notified. The campaign runs from Friday through Dec. 26. Prizes vary from overnight camping excursions to gift certificates to local shops and restaurants, golf passes, spa services and gift baskets.

Last year, over the course of the 30 days, 21,000 people took part in the giveaway program by entering the contest and sharing personal recommendations of their experience with the business within the comments of the post. These personal reviews ultimately led to more people visiting businesses for the first time.

In 2019, Butler County Tourism’s 30 Days of Giveaways was awarded Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Associations (PRLA) “Spirit of Hospitality Campaign of the Year.”
